PIBSAT
I have concluded my Construction Project Management (CPM) class at Panjwani Institute of Business Studies and Technology (PIBSAT). The exam will be in first week of February 2024. I have no idea about construction and it seems like I am going to fail it. I was not here for the certification anyway. The course is aligned with my Muzdoor.com’s vision and mission. For the marketing point of view, I was here for networking and I was successful. You will see me collaborating with PIBSAT in 2024 InshaAllah. I hope I pass my exam InshaAllah.
Amanullah Panjwani is the owner of the institute. Please visit his Facebook page. He gave me a standing ovation in the last class. He mentioned my name and my company name Muzdoor.com. I highly apprecaite this respect from him and the Mr. Muhammad Hassan.
Mr. Amanullha Panjwani started this dream realizing that a market gap exist in Karachi and the whole of Pakistan to have an access to construction education. PIBSAT is in Karachi and has recently extended its branch in Bahria Town Karachi. I personally congratulate Amanullah Panjwani for sustaining so far. May Allah bless him more, Ameen. My instructor, Mr. Muhammad Hassan is also a graduate of PIBSAT.
Of course, one has to realize that due to corrupt practices of contractors put the whole industry in jeopardy. We as a nation have jeopardize our self as an individual, company’s and country’s credibility, integrity, and trust by corrupt practices in several industries. This course entice students to learn from instructors how to identify corruption and lies in construction.
This course was incomplete if Mr. Muhammad Hassan was not part of this. I believe Allah has chosen him to be an educationist. He is also practicing as a professional contractor for several sites. Mr. Muhammad Hassan was my instructor at PIBSAT. I still remember he mentioned that a contractor’s daughter will get married during second hefty payment from the investor who is investing in construction of the house. That was true when I was investing and erecting a 400 square yard house. I still have nightmares about that investment as I did lose PKR Rs. 8 crore in terms of today’s date December 30, 2023. Due to that I am still in monetary debt that I am trying to pay off and haven’t even started it yet to pay. That’s another story.
I did blame the contractor for the mishap. However, I realize now, I did not have the education and information about construction. Otherwise, I would have been more disciplined in construction. I wish I knew about PIBSAT and Muhammad Hassan back in 2011. Anyway, things happen for a reason and I know what reason was that. I am not being non-thankful. However, the event happened and it must be disclosed.
Regardless of your age; 50, 60 or 70; this course is a hands-on experience class. Even at an old age, one need to understand what happened to your investment and how will you train your offspring and your grand kids. You will interact through class’s Q&A sessions, assignments, tests, site visits, and most importantly you can even discuss your real-time projects and ideas with Mr. Muhammad Hassan. Ain’t that cool?
This course provides certification when you pass the exam. It is an investment. However, I think differently since I am handling Muzdooor.com. I am complete idiot in construction. I have no idea about how on-site labour, contractor, shop keepers and other vendors will make a fool out of your hard earned cash. This course will identify those pain points about construction and removes any ambiguity about calculation, material purchasing, stopping of corrupt practices by contractors, shop keepers, and vendors.
The concept of contractors in Pakistan is that they are the most corrupt people. Of course, they do not follow the standards and 99 %of the contractors are not formally trained and educated. The contractors get help from other contractors to get any building erected. The Islamic concept of Haram and Halal way of earning is not injected in our business operation. We are mostly focus on monetary benefit. We are not focused on integrity and trust.
Pakistan is evolving since 1947, during 9/11 tragedy, during Covid-19 pandemic. Pakistan started from zero, literally shut down during 9/11 and Covid-19 pandemic. However, Pakistan exist. May Allah protect Pakistan from external and internal, artificially deliberately injected elements that makes corrupt country.
When I came back from USA in 2003; lots of Western culture was taking shape in several industry. The most attention would get fast food industry. Indeed, KFC was there in 1992 but then I saw several American and European food chains open up in Pakistan. You can read the article here in Pakistan is changing. There is another article named Workforce in Pakistan and you can read it here and it is related to the previous article.
My classmates were all professionals consisting of two females and several males. Most of the classmates have their own business, conducting construction for their clients, making 3D designs, and more. The gender parity was high though. However, keep in mind that women population in Pakistan have increased almost 4% and male population have decreased almost 4% according to World Bank data. Don’t get surprised to see lots of female engineers, shop keepers, vendors and contractors coming up in the industry. In my opinion the best interior designers are women. They know how to manage home and they will convert a house in to a home.
