Ramadan Mubarak March 6 2025

This newsletter is a bit late to send out in Ramadan Mubarak March 6 2025. However, it is never late to say Ramadan Kareem! May Allah bless all of my readers and subscribers with His Rahma and Bounties. Amen. I want to talk to about the freeze the country gets in everything. From hiring to focusing on food and roaming of beggars on the road. Let’s talk about hiring freeze that we all encounter. Hiring Freeze I get tons of resumes in Ramadan from the candidates that are looking for jobs and gigs at Muzdoor.com. However, I am a failure to cater 99.999%, which is almost 100%. Why? Simply, because I don’t see companies hiring at all. I see ads, but no one hires anyone on the spot. I understand the hiring is a process. Furthermore, it is also candidate’s responsibility to understand the market and look for the job at least three months prior. This way, the candidates will have ample time to circulate and distribute their resume in the market. Due to increase population and increased competition with increased skills acquiring; the job market is tough in Karachi market. I am sure Punjab is going through the same phase. Please correct me if I am wrong. The irony is that we don’t pay people as what Pakistani government has legally allowed. Yet, we take out Zakat in the name of Zakat. The distribution of money in the name of Islam and forging the laws is no concern to the person who is helpless, under duress, forced and compelled. The Pakistani masses are under duress. The earing of Halal ways is diminishing and on the top salaries are not paid on time and not up the market standard. I feel like that everyone in Pakistan is following the American rapper, 50-Cent, who has rapped “Get Rich, or die trying”. Focusing on Food Focusing the food is a family event to ensure everything is ready by iftar from our beloved mothers, wives, sisters, and even fathers, brothers, sons-in-laws too (I highly doubt though – no pun intended). I am a foodie and I love food. No doubt about it. The zesty chicken or beef BBQs are irresistible. We need fruit chaat or fruit salad with locally made spices on iftar on a daily basis. They definitely give energy and nutrition. The issue is that these consumable items and specially fruits are stored in freezer for more than 6-months or so. The food hoarders or legally term would be traders know that more than half of the fruits will go in waste in their own warehouse. The rest will be sold to masses for high prices. It has been our culture norm for the past 70 years. Most of these traders are illiterate and don’t use technology for their growth. Instead, their focus becomes cash; the end result. The technology has been expensive even in well developed countries in Middle East and Western countries. I always see the news that orange and mango crops have a loss in Pakistan. I mean, for crying out loud; if you are in loss, then change your system or reform your system. I can’t simply blame traders for everything. However, they need to self-educate on lots of things. Majority of the traders are from villages and local and international companies take huge advantage of their illiteracy.   Focusing on food is good but we need to self-educate and self-train on how to make things better. The focus should be on education and training ourselves on the process. The money will roll in by itself InshaAllah. Roaming of Beggars The roaming of beggars on Karachi streets means all hell is broken lose. In old days, people would say, don’t send anyone to jail but send them to Karachi. I believe that statement is true even today. Indeed, earning halal by working hard has numerous advantages. The entrepreneurship skills can teach you to be creative. I am seeing this on hand from youngsters who are working online; the halal way. The beggars roaming on streets means that masses do give them cash. So, we should stop paying Zakat since you like to pay a professional beggar who is richer than you. The distribution of money is not equal. The roaming of beggars is directly related to my first heading of Hiring Freeze as discussed above. Be careful of the new trend from the beggars. These beggars do several things. Physically stop your movement by touching you Deliberately block your way by standing in front of you Talk continuously and begging If you encounter these steps, you have to watch yourself from snatchers. Even old-age (senior citizens) male and female are into snatching. I have experienced it once. Furthermore, they come in all sizes, shapes, cars, colors, clothes. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the importance of offering a job to someone, rather than simply giving money to a beggar without any work. Charity is important, but you can also call on plumbers, electricians, and masonry workers for help. These workers face not only financial hardship but also mental health challenges. I would recommend, and even urge, you to hire your local laborers to fix issues in your home, helping to make it clean and tidy. By paying them fairly, you ensure that the distribution of charity has more value, and that these tradespeople can earn a living, rather than relying on simple rationing that everyone needs.
